SoCal Games Day: Southern California's Games Day is a full day of convention-style open gaming. They are held approximately every quarter at the Tujunga Elks Lodge. They play all sorts of strategy games: mostly German games, but also some abstract boardgames, Family Games, and Card Games. Website >
STRATEGICON CONVENTIONS
Orccon/Gamex/Gateway: These are the three Strategicon conventions that take place in the Sheraton Hotel near Los Angeles Airport (LAX). They are held three times a year and consists of a wide range of board gaming, miniatures and roleplaying events. Website >
WARGAME BOOTCAMP
Wargame Bootcamp : The role of the bootcamp is to teach wargames to those people who have not tried them before; or are returning to wargaming and want to try some the modern innovations. The bootcamp is a feature at the Strategicon conventions where we teach and run games and offer a prize raffle to reward those who have participated. In addition we have a regular Wednesday night online gaming session using vassal and ventrilo where we record the sessions in a Series Replay style where the players and a neutral commentator discuss the game as it unfolds.
